Charlie's Bird

living the dream with Charlie and Thandi and chirping all the way back to the nest.

Phew!

…I have survived the last few days, not to get through the next few…

So yesterday we bid farewell to a friend’s dad. I have known this family since I was 5 years old, and P and I grew up in each others homes. As we grew up into our teenage years, so did her Dad, one of the eternal teenagers of our lives. He loved a party, he loved people, he loved entertaining. And he loved his speedos, which made us cringe in horror! But mostly he loved his family, he made his home the one we all wanted to visit. He died very suddenly and unexpectedly on Friday, and our hearts are very sore for the family. So last night, as only they could, the family hosted the wake to end all wakes! And PGW was there in a rumble of thunder, woosh of the wind and the sudden heavy downpouring of the rain. I think he approved!

I also managed my first run in almost a week yesterday, and it was pain free! Woohoo! Now to get back on schedule. We are off to the mountains tomorrow, a trail run awaits me on Saturday, and then a long slow training run on Sunday. And a bit of work on our plot, and just soaking up the mountain spirit!
