Charlie's Bird

living the dream with Charlie and Thandi and chirping all the way back to the nest.

…we are waiting to hear news of Charlie’s nephew’s matric results. I remember the day I heard about mine… I walked p to the window where they were posted at school, saw my English result, which was a B, thought that was my aggregate, and was bitterly disappointed, because I knew then that I probably would not get into medicine. I was on the waiting lists at various universities, pending my final results. One of my friends then started jumping up and down,”Birdie, you did it, you got an A!” and I promptly burst into tears, not believing my luck. An A indeed! The rest, as they say, was history – med school, specialising, private practice. All because of the alphabet!

Edit to add, He passed!!!!
